Heavy rain causes flooding, washes out roads in northeastern Wake County

Heavy rainfall across the Triangle area Saturday caused flooding and washed out at least two roads in northeastern Wake County.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol said a section of N.C. 96 had collapsed, according to a report by ABC11, The News & Observer’s media partner.

The Rolesville Fire Department posted a photo on its Facebook page of a washed-out section of Mitchell Mill road.

In Durham, video from ABC11 showed the intersection of 9th and Green streets underwater.
