Human history has been full of conspiracies. Some real and proven, some probably happening, some fake and some theories.

James Parker April 21, 2019 - 7:20 am

There is more to the hidden Truth than is known publicly. There are many conspiracys we do not know about.

I thought I would never comment on anything this great man says in my life time. But he continues to focus on how conspiracy explanations are flawed about 911. What about the official 911 report Mr Chomsky, you never want to comment on that. There were 2 planes and 3 building. 2 “ Aluminum planes penetrate 8 layers of 4”steel sheets that make the beams. Steel melting from kerosene. No interaction from the government or air defense. Cellphones calls while the planes are 30000 feet high. The high jackers we’re doing drugs the weeks prior to the attack. Ground zero was blocked and sealed with 25 feet high fences so no one would see the lack of dibris while they were secretly transporting the steel to China. This all looks too bad to ignore. That is the NonConspiracy Theory.

Thermite residue was found in the dust of BOTH world trade centers. There are even photos of load bearing beams having been destroyed with cutter charges. End of discussion.

Uncle Noam is a traitor to our country. Used as a cover by the evildoers. Talk about the Rothschilds, Uncle Noam. Who but a traitor would not mention their name?

Dumisani Shelembe April 21, 2019 - 7:20 am

Noam Chomsky is a walking conspiracy himself and that's why I tune in to his verbatim. How does a man who gets his hands on every conspiracy and rational political phenomenon gets to live to old age? I like him and not but he's great.

Anthony A April 21, 2019 - 7:20 am

Talk about conspiracy, fossil fuel? Just how many dinosaurs do you think there were? Did they all die cowering together? Also how after wells are empty and capped is after a few years more fuel in the well? There isn't fossil fuel, it's natural to the earth and renewable.

Anne Other April 21, 2019 - 7:20 am

Suspect everything but don't proclaim as true anything for which the evidence is not directly available.

The Crook April 21, 2019 - 7:20 am

After JFK was killed conspiracy theories picked up and became huge and bigger.

Michel van der Molen April 21, 2019 - 7:20 am

Yes, all the hijackers were Saudis, yet America never did anything about it, they never attacked or even sanctioned Saudi Arabia, the media completely pulled the focus away an started making up a Sadam Hussein/Al Qaeda connection that didn't exist, isn't that suspicious? Isn't the fact that the poeople who did it came from a US allie an even bigger sign that the US WAS involved ?

Michel van der Molen April 21, 2019 - 7:20 am

I agree that JFK probably wasn't such a great guy as people make him out to be, but you can't the deny that the official story is full of lies and he was likely taken out by either the government, the mafia, or indeed a conspiracy of both….

John OConnor April 21, 2019 - 7:20 am

"……they direct attention away from crimes a lot bigger than blowing up the WTC…" What is a bigger crime than THAT? C'mon Noam

Bushbuddy Platypus April 21, 2019 - 7:20 am

9/11? Not the first time I''ve seen Noam fail at denying how suspicious the whole situation is. I'm amazed that 9/11 as a black op is controversial at all, or did most of history with all its colour and bite occur on a neighbouring planet?

Another fairly vague attempt here too Noam.

Beach Sand April 21, 2019 - 7:20 am

Flawed to the teeth, your center claim is “ god” and all the villains are out there to knock it down . First, you need to discuss the experience of your existence of such entity “god”., don’t you think this is inhuman to congregate racially around invisible entity and reject anything different? You are a low tier foot soldier to the same system that you are stumping your feet complaining about , If honest why not check on genie oil in golan Hight which maybe the downfall of this empire. Later , the people will be asking why things went this way! Well, because of the shit head voters like you who always vote for the mafia , relentless slaves , you’ve done with your monkey trump against golan height the biggest plunder which will turn into a rift and a crack, you will not wake up , but at least I passed the message.

Was there 4 or 6 people in Kennedy's car when shot?

John Salisbury April 21, 2019 - 7:20 am

Worst presentation Ive seen Chomsky make, made me think he's been primed to give a 'view' on this. A lot of stuff he said was generic, abstract and didnt cast proof either way. His point about thermite was nonsense, as also JFK's character. First time Ive felt he is untrustworthy.

kingpest13 April 21, 2019 - 7:20 am

Funny, I'm a progressive and believe in logic and the only person I know who is a conspiracy guy is a republican.

Chevalier DeViolet April 21, 2019 - 7:20 am

This man is god!

richard bello April 21, 2019 - 7:20 am

Conspiracy theory was given a bad connotation as crazy off the wall lunacy by the CIA secret shadow government right after the assassination of JFK so if anyone connected the dots they would be labeled a conspiracy theory nutcase.
The American people are very naive and Stupid and would rather believe lies than the truth

Squim April 21, 2019 - 7:20 am

Been saying this for years. Conspiracies give us a comforting villain to soothe our terror and save us from our remorse from our own complicity in institutional destruction of human lives and the environment

Darren Grant April 21, 2019 - 7:20 am

I agree with most of what you had to say and I'm what most would call a conspiracy theorists but I have my lines and that logic. And I think it still fits with institutional conspiracy just across multiple feild, but all war propaganda come from one place. So let me ask with the 9/11 thing. You said in other words it would be the Bush administration would be biting it own head off blaming it on the Saudis. Well the thing is they blamed it on Saudi nationals not the government. The Saudi government helped them, Top Muslim power in the middle east with only Iran as competition now. The thermite wasn't just in building 7 it was in all three. The Pentagon was a missile, And dont act like the US didn't have business with Afghan already. It's not necessarily W. Bush a lot of this shit was leftover from his father as hes admitted to being in the Skull and Bones society. He was just a puppet. Cheney did most the talking behind the sceens. Might also want to look up the "Dancing Isrealis" and the Israeli Espionage FBI investigation that was going on at the time. That's like saying the CIA didn't help start the Syrian war. Overall I'd say the Bush administration was interested in money and his Fathers NWO with the laws they used that to pass. While the CIA possibly MOSSAD enjoyed the Geopolitical side effects. Simply put it's the Military industrial complex. There for still Bilderberg, Council on Foreign Relations, Atlantic Council level conspiracy. The part of it that seems extra is all the illuminati cult shit around it because the Bush family was in a fraternity cult. The Free Masons and illuminati aren't the same thing.

Dan Bee April 21, 2019 - 7:20 am

Though I do recall regulations would have grounded most of the hijacked flights before take off but the command was disregarded( commission report) by private sector’s fear of not being federally insured of the lost profits? Not sure what came of it

steve sundt April 21, 2019 - 7:20 am

Nothing will change until we investigate these conspiracy theories with a fair jury, but they will not allow this.

W.W. April 21, 2019 - 7:20 am

"Conspiracy Theory" as a term, was implemented by the CIA after JFK's assassination to derail those who might be truthful. It's a brilliant tactic, especially during a more trusting time…it works very well today, also. I understand why a public figure would stay away from them though

Blank April 21, 2019 - 7:20 am

Chomsky hasn't been the same since he was exposed as a backcountry good old boy by Foucault. Who will finally put these uncouth colonists in their place?

Tri LuSheen April 21, 2019 - 7:20 am

Chomsky = Gatekeeper. "Building 7 or whatever…" Doesn't sound like a person who wants you to look more instead, sounds like he is saying move along, nothing to see here.

Charles Kesner April 21, 2019 - 7:20 am

Need more discussions like this in the US. Thanks.

Balls to the wall April 21, 2019 - 7:20 am

Come on man! Your a smart guy I’ve listened to many of your lecturers. But 911 not a clear conspiracy?? You lost me.

kells1001 April 21, 2019 - 7:20 am

Whether by nook or by crook the concentration of wealth. while encouraging Plutocracy and Oligarchs along with a corporate survellance state and media control pose the greatest threat to Democracy. Is it a conspiracy. .or just the preservation of self in the name of opposing threats to their personal power.

justmadeit2 April 21, 2019 - 7:20 am

The problem with the proliferation of conspiracy theories on the internet is that averyone thinks they are an 'expert' on how the world runs because they have watched a few documentaries etc, and while their are undoubtedly some conspiracies that exist, as Noam Chomsky pointed out, not everything that happens is a conspiracy with crisis actors etc. The fact that wild c.t's are so wide spread actually backfires on people, because when there are genuine things that need looking at people wont listen and will maybe dismiss someone as a conspiracy theorist for pointing it out to them. The word conspiracy theory itself has become synonymous with gullibility/faulty thinking

munstrumridcully April 21, 2019 - 7:20 am

If it wasn't a crazy act by a lone Oswald, the most likly alternative, imo, is that Carlos Marcello, Santo Trafficante, and Sam Giancana conspired to kill Kennedy because Bobby Kennedy was attacking the mob and Hoffa and they felt betrayed because they helped get Kennedy votes at the behest of former bootlegger and Kennedy patriarch, Joe Kennedy.

Andre Dias April 21, 2019 - 7:20 am

Noam, the US could not simply push for the war on Iraq, if they wanted to. The first step had be to reduce civil liberties in the US, and that was achieved only with the Bin Laden/Terrorism bogey man. An event like 911 was necessary to convince both internal and external public opinion. Then they could pursue war in Iraq, Syria, Libya. I think Israel, with some Saudi help, carried on 911, with a "blind eye" and a little "push" from the Bush administration. The war in Afghanistan was a step towards Iran. It has some logic, its not a far off theory. This is a rationale of what could be behind 911, and I could be wrong, but I don't care about the reasons. What is absolute clear is that the 3 towers did not collapse because of plane crash + fire, whoever is behind.

Lamest answer. I expected more from him but he failed miserably.

Nicholas Troy Susco April 21, 2019 - 7:20 am

Noam, you collect a paycheck and a pension just the same. We all know that you are an Atheist, Communist, but you claim some sort of Moral Authority over those of us who do believe in something greater than this. You are a smart man, who has the ability to communicate effectively, but you deny the gift you have been given. I agree with your observations, but it is just hard to understand how or why belief in the Origin of Morality is somehow of no importance.

Michael Gonzalez April 21, 2019 - 7:20 am

"You should never chalk up to conspiracy what you can reliably attribute to stupidity. Because stupidity is a much more powerful force in the course of human events."
