The deportations of Alligator Alcatraz began.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis stated, “I do not want illegals to just be stored and then kind of sat.” I want to see a process where there is an aggressive processing and a schedule for deportation.
According to Florida Governor Rick Scott, at least 100 detainees who were processed at Alligator Alcatraz had been “fully deported.” Ron DeSantis.
DeSantis continues to support the work of the Florida Division of Emergency Management, which has transformed the Miami-Dade Collier Training Facility located in the Florida Everglades in to a deportation center to house and process illegal migrants. DeSantis had previously stated that deportations are already underway. He noted that the majority of those housed in the facility at that time were males who were military age.
“These people — many of them have criminal records. “But that’s exactly what’s going on here and I believe it’s very effective,” he said.
DeSantis confirmed in the past that 100 people who were housed and processed at the facility have “fully been deported.” He noted that the Department of Homeland Security handles the departures to deportation.
DeSantis stated that there was a “deportation schedule” with a high level of urgency. “That’s exactly what you are starting to see here at Alligator Alcatraz.”
Three deportation flight have already left, the first carrying 100 passengers.
Alligator Alcatraz can hold up to 2,000 illegal immigrants.
DeSantis stated that three flights operated by Homeland Security Department (DHS) had already taken off. DeSantis said that the first flight had 100 detainees aboard. The flights’ destinations are not known.

Alligator Alcatraz, which opened on July 1, now houses up to 2,000 illegal immigrants. The center is named after its location, in the middle the Florida Everglades, surrounded by dangerous animals. It has a 2-mile-long runway for deportation flights.
