Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, praised Donald Trump for the release of Hamas’s last remaining hostages.
Netanyahu said that he also nominated Trump to receive the Israel Prize, making him the first non-Israeli winner.
Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, praised Donald Trump on Monday as “the greatest friend” Israel ever had as Hamas freed the last 20 hostages alive under the new peace agreement.
Netanyahu stated that “No American President has ever done more to support Israel.” “It’s not even close.”
He thanked Trump “for standing up for Israel” in the United Nations. Trump also recognized Israel’s right to the West Bank, or Judea and Samaria.
Netanyahu thanked the Israelis for their support of Operation Rising Lion, and for the bold decision they made to launch Operation Midnight Hammer in June to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities. “Boy you have to hear this – this is the best name for a military campaign ever, because you hammered Iran a little past midnight.”
Netanyahu announced he had nominated Trump as the first non-Israeli to receive the Israel Prize. He described it as the nation’s highest award.
Netanyahu praised Trump’s peace plan for Gaza.
Netanyahu praised Trump’s peace plan for Gaza. He called it a “proposal that ends the conflict by achieving our objectives. A proposal that opens up the door to a wider peace in our area and beyond.”
He thanked Trump repeatedly for reminding world leaders to “Remember October 7,” and recalled the horrors that were the Hamas terror attacks — the murder of innocent civilians and the kidnapping of babies into Gaza as hostages.
“Our heroic soldiers fought as lions.” He said that they fought in the front line between civilization and barbarism. He said that they had defeated Israel’s enemies in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria and beyond.
But the cost of these victories has been high. Nearly 2,000 Israelis were killed. Nearly half of Israel’s finest [915] were killed in battle. “Their love and laughter, promise and potential were forever lost,” Netanyahu said.
