Rodric Bray, Indiana Senate’s President Pro Tempore, said the Senate would not meet to redraft Indiana’s congressional maps.
Bray stated, “Today, I am announcing that there aren’t enough votes to advance this idea, and the Senate won’t reconvene in November.”
The Republican leader in the Indiana Senate has said that the chamber will not meet to redraft the state’s federal map. He is rejecting the pressures from both President Donald Trump and Indiana’s Governor.
In a press release, Indiana Senate Pro Tempore Rodric Bry announced that there were not enough votes for the idea to be advanced. The Senate will therefore not convene in December.
The White House has repeatedly urged Indiana, where Republicans hold seven of nine seats in Congress, to join a national redistricting effort to strengthen the narrow House majority for next year’s midterm election. Vice President JDVance visited Indiana twice to pressure lawmakers. Trump also called legislators.
Indiana Republican Gov. Mike Braun called for a special session of the legislature last month in an attempt to force this issue. The state lawmakers initially stated that they would not meet until the regularly scheduled session of December to save money. They then cancelled it on Friday afternoon.
Braun wrote in a blog post that he had called on our legislators convene in order to make sure the voices of Hoosiers in Washington, DC were not diluted due to democrats gerrymandering. “Our state Senators must do the right thing, and vote for fair maps.”
Donald Trump isn’t happy about it.
Trump said: “Any Republican who votes against this redistricting that could have an impact on America should be PRIMARIED.”
I am disappointed with the Indiana State Senate Republicans led by RINO senators Rod Bray, and Greg Goode for refusing to redistrict, allowing United States Congress two additional Republican seats. Redistricting has been done by Democrats for many years, sometimes illegally. All other Republican States also do it. These two “gentlemen” of the politically correct kind, and others, could prevent Republicans from gaining a majority in the House. This is a very big deal! California is trying hard to gain five seats and no one seems to be complaining. Weak “Republicans”, who are responsible for our country’s problems, are the weakest. A friend of mine, Gov. Mike Braun, may not be working as hard as he could to gain the votes he needs. Mike would not be Governor without me. It’s disappointing that Mike wouldn’t be Governor without me (Not even close! All Republicans who vote against this redistricting that could have a major impact on America should be PRIMARIED. Indiana has a strong, intelligent, and patriotic population. They want our country to win and “MAKE AMERICA GREEN AGAIN!” Senators Bray and Goode and those who will be made public later today afternoon should do their job, and they should do it NOW! We need to get them out ASAP if they don’t.
