ActBlue’s CEO Regina Wallace Jones was just summoned.
The subpoena was issued by the House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan, House Administration Committee Chair Bryan Steil and Oversight and Government Reform Committee chairman James Comer.
Act Blue is being investigated.
In a press statement, they said, “Although ActBlue provided documents initially voluntarily, since then it has suspended its cooperation with Committees.” The Judiciary Committee is forced to resort to a compulsory process in order to obtain the requested material.
ActBlue CEO Regina Wallace Jones was subpoenaed today by House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R – OH), House Administration Committee Chair Bryan Steil R – WI, and Oversight and Government Reform Committee chairman James Comer KY-01 for documents related to their investigation of the fundraising platform.
The Committees are conducting an investigation to inform possible legislative reforms in light of allegations that online platforms that act as conduits for donations made by domestic and foreign donors have accepted fraudulent contributions. On April 2, 2025 the Committees sought documents and communications relating to ActBlue’s internal misconduct, including retaliation against whistleblowers.
“Although ActBlue provided documents initially voluntarily, they have since suspended their cooperation with the Committees. The Judiciary Committee will have to resort to a compulsory process in order to obtain the requested material.
ActBlue’s response to the news was that the subpoenas were “political theatre.”
ActBlue said in a press release to Just the News on Tuesday that the subpoena was the latest political act by the Republican party. “The Republican Party just passed a bill that gutted Medicaid and prioritized billionaires above the middle class. This will have disastrous consequences for our country.”
“The dedicated team at ActBlue sees it for what is: A campaign designed to silence dissent and destroy our democratic process. ActBlue is steadfastly committed to our mission of empowering grassroots donors and supporting Democratic candidates on every level. We fully expect that as the 2026 midterm elections approach, these Committees will continue to create PR stunts and try to confuse voters.
