Bondi stated, “We will take all legal actions available, including an urgent appeal to hold Letitia James, and James Comey responsible for their illegal conduct.”

Bondi has vowed that she will appeal the ruling of a federal court on Monday, which dismissed criminal charges in Virginia against former FBI director James Comey and New York attorney general Letitia James
Bondi, at a Monday press conference in Memphis, said: “We will take all legal actions available to us. This includes an immediate appeal for Letitia James’ and James Comey’s unlawful conduct.
When asked about Comey’s statement, she replied, “I am not concerned about someone who is charged with a serious crime.” His alleged acts were a betrayal to the public trust.”
James Comey has been indicted on charges of making false statements and obstructing an investigation by the Congress.
Letitia was charged with mortgage fraud and bank fraud.
Both deny wrongdoing.
Comey was charged in September 2025 with making false statements to Congress, and obstructing an inquiry by the Congress. It was a result of his testimony in 2018 about the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane probe.
This probe was into the possible links between the Trump campaign of 2016 and Russia.

Letitia Jame was indicted separately on October 20, 2025 for mortgage fraud and bank fraud. She is accused of misrepresenting the purchase of a Virginia house in 2020 as a second residence to obtain more favorable loan terms.

Both Comey’s and James’ defense teams have claimed that the prosecutions are flawed. They cite procedural irregularities as well as Halligan’s disputed appointment.
