Big Brothers Activate ‘Protection Team’ Mode to Defend Sister in Cute Video
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Two young brothers have gone viral on TikTok for leaping into “protective” mode after overhearing that their little sister was being bullied.

The video posted by mom Cara Hashman, also known as @thehashfam on TikTok, shows her two sons’ swift reaction to a staged scenario where their sister, Halle, claims she was pushed down by a boy at the park.

In the short clip, Hashman and Halle pretend to have a serious conversation while the boys are seen watching TV in the background.

“Knowing how protective they are over their little sister, I was curious to see how they would react if they thought that she was [being] bullied,” Hashman, from Indiana, told Newsweek.

In the video, Hashman asks, “Are you serious? A boy pushed you down at the park?” Halle plays along when her mother asks her how old the boy was. Halle responds, “10.”

Immediately, Hashman’s eldest son snaps to attention: “A 10-year-old boy pushed Halle down at the park?” while the other brother yells, “What?!”

Hashman told Newsweek that she couldn’t help but laugh when she heard her two sons chiming in and then realized they were being pranked.

“They have brought up many scenarios since pranking them on what they would have done if it was true,” the 38-year-old said.

Since it was uploaded to TikTok on June 26, Hashman’s clip has gained over 15 million views and over 7,000 comments from users who also found the prank hilarious.

One user wrote: “Big brother protection team activated.”

“That second one was about to go get his shoes on,” another TikTok user wrote while a third called the reaction “we ride at dawn vibes.”

Many others were quick to commend Halle’s acting skills, with one user writing: “The way how she said ten is cracking me up…like she just knew that would be the age to set them off.”

Hashman also told Newsweek about the strong bond between her children, despite the occasional sibling squabble.

“They don’t always get along with each other but are all fiercely protective over each other,” she said, adding that her eldest son is the most protective of the two. “She [Halle] could fall and scrape her knee while running and he is at her side in an instant helping her back up and talking her through her tears.”

Meanwhile, another TikTok user called the boys’ reactions “the sweetest” and commented that they have their sister’s back.

After Halle was born, Hashman’s son has been a constant support and even staying up with his mom during the first few nights to help care for his new baby sister.

“I didn’t ask him too, but it’s what he wanted. He was 5 at the time [and] has a very close bond with her,” Hashman added.
