A video showcasing the dramatic difference in dogs’ behavior on the way to the park as opposed to the way back has clocked over 7 million views on Instagram.

The post, shared by @ruffandpuffyyc—a page dedicated to capturing the daily adventures of dogs being transported around Calgary, Canada, in a school bus—features the dogs bursting with energy as they head to the park.

The video also includes a lively scene of the dogs playing together at the park, where medium-sized breeds such as Labradors and Huskies can be seen running around and having fun. On the return trip, however, they are the picture of calm—except for a golden retriever who remains alert and ready for more.

“After running around like crazy at the park, they’re usually pretty wiped out. The ride back is much calmer—most of them are napping, and it’s way quieter,” dog walker Denzel told Newsweek. He added: “Goldens are like Energizer bunnies. They’ve got tons of energy, but they do tend to slow down and chill out after they hit three or four years old.”

Denzel, the owner of Ruff and Puff, shared his unique perspective on the job, which involves driving the bus and looking after 15 to 30 dogs daily.

He told Newsweek: “Basically, I get to spend my days cruising around in a school bus full of dogs, taking them to a private dog park for some off-leash adventures!”

With around 15 dogs in the bus at a time, Denzel said: “It can be a party in there!”

“It’s entertaining driving them. The dogs are always getting into funny shenanigans. I think you’d be hard-pressed to find a better job!”

Indeed, the video has left users feeling envious and considering a career change.

One person asked: “How can i get this job?” and another said: “My career goals have changed. i want to be the driver of this bus.”

Since its posting on October 3, the video has received over 485,000 likes and more than 1,100 comments.

“Such distinguished ladies and gentlemen on the way back,” one user remarked. Another compared them to children, writing: “Exactly like little hoomans before and after a field trip!”

A third comment poked fun at the retriever’s boundless energy: “Retriever at the end was like—SOOOOOOO now we’re going to another park next!?”

Is Doggy Daycare Right for Your Dog?

There are many reasons why some owners may send their furry friend to doggy daycare. As seen in the video, it is not only a great opportunity for socialization and play with other dogs, but a great way to avoid separation anxiety and boredom, as noted by the American Kennel Club. Other key benefits include:

  • Mental stimulation to keep them engaged
  • Plenty of physical activity, ensuring a tired and relaxed dog by the time they return home
  • Lots of attention and care
  • The peace of mind that comes with avoiding strangers entering your home for care
