Cat Reunited With Brother She’d Never Spent ‘Single Hour’ From Melts Hearts

A viral video has caught the wholesome moment a cat named Spooky realized her brother was finally home from the vet, after spending a few days there because he wasn’t feeling too well.

The heartwarming video, shared on TikTok in July under the username @winstonandspooky, shows Spooky, running downstairs as soon as she sees her dad’s car pull up into the driveway, hoping to catch her brother with him.

Layover text shared displayed on the clip read: “Watch Spooky reunite with her brother after never living a single hour of her life without him… Our little Winston was having some health issues and had to stay with the vet for a few days…

“During that time we could tell Spooky was acting different. She rarely got out of bed… And when she did… She didn’t do much.”

Her brother was indeed coming home with their dad, and when she finally smelled him she immediately greeted him with lots of kisses and cuddles.

“Spooky didn’t leave her brother’s side for the next few days… She was happy to be back and we were happy Winston was back to his normal and healthy self,” the text continued.

While some cats are perfectly fine on their own, and may even hate the idea of sharing their human with another feline, others like Spooky and her brother Winston feel the need to have a companion who’s similar to them. But how do you know which is your cat’s preference?

According to experts, when your cat wants a feline companion, they will show signs. They may become extra clingy, or spend more time than usual grooming, or they may even go through eating pattern changes.

Moreover, they may start having litter issues, changes in sleep patterns, or even in their energy levels. Often a cat that needs more company will also become more talkative, as if trying to voice their need to you.

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 616,200 views and 54,400 likes on the platform.

One user, Lynnbender700, commented: “Love this- wish more people would adopt siblings.”

Chris Allen said: “Honestly I don’t know how anyone can say cats aren’t affectionate and emotional.”

The Beeztriss added: “Damn, that’s love. my cats always hiss at each other bc they smell like the vet’s.”

Newsweek reached out to winstonandspooky for comment via email. We could not verify the details of the case.
