According to a Wall Street Journal survey, the Democrat Party image is at its lowest point since 1990. Voters favor Republicans over Democrats on almost all major issues.
A new Wall Street Journal survey shows that the Democrat Party is at its lowest level in 35 years with American voters. 63 percent of respondents view it unfavorably – the worst rating since 90 – and only eight percent have a very positive opinion. These findings show that the Democrat Party is increasingly perceived as being out of touch with American voters. The Republicans are now preferred in nearly all major issues.
The poll shows that the majority of voters prefer Republicans to Democrats in handling nearly all key issues, such as inflation, tariffs and foreign policy. But, most importantly, Republicans have a 24-point lead on immigration.
The GOP still has a strong lead among voters, even those who are not happy with Trump’s policies. As an example, voters disapprove Trump’s handling inflation by 11 percentage points but trust Republicans more than Democrats in inflation by 10 percentage points. This pattern is repeated across a wide range of issues. Voters are basically saying: we may not like Trump but we do trust his party.
John Anzalone, a Democratic pollster, said that the Democrat “brand” was so bad that it didn’t give them the credibility to criticize Trump or the Republican Party. He also stated that they would have serious problems if they did not reconnect with voters.
Anzalone said in the newspaper that “the Democratic brand is so poor, they don’t even have the credibility to criticize Trump or the Republican Party.” They’re going have trouble until they can reconnect with working people and real voters about what they stand for and their economic message.
