Donald Trump has been widely praised by the public for his efforts to make Washington, D.C. safer.

Bill Barr, the former Attorney General, praised Trump. He said, “I think the president is right on the money. And I think Judge Pirro outlined the case very clearly. I’m glad that she’s here because she knows what needs to be accomplished in this town.”

Breitbart reported:

Bill Barr, former Attorney General, said that President Donald Trump’s federal takeover Washington, DC police is “right in the money.”

Barr expressed his support for President Trump’s plan in an interview with Fox News.

Barr stated, “I think that the president is right, and Judge [Jeanine] Pirro has laid out the case well. I’m happy she’s here because she knows what’s needed in this town.”

“The crime rates are too high. If it were a state, it’d have the highest murder rates in the nation. In terms of violence, it competes with St. Louis, Memphis, and Chicago to be the criminal capital of the nation — not the capital city of this great Republic. “That is not enough. This place belongs the American people. “It’s a symbol for our country and we must keep it safe.”

National Guard troops were spotted in Washington, DC.

Fox News reported

On Tuesday, National Guard troops were seen in Washington, D.C., amid President Donald Trump’s crackdown against crime in the capital.

…

On Tuesday morning, National Guard troops could be seen leaving the D.C. Armory. Military vehicles were seen in video footage stationed along a street while pedestrians walked past. It was not immediately clear how many soldiers were in the city, or what their role would be.

Fox News Digital reached out to both the White House National Guard and the District of Columbia National Guard.

The Trump administration has a plan to fight crime in the city, and the presence of federal law enforcement and troops was part of that plan.
