Frost enters this position a week before the start of the 2024 NFL season. Frost last coached in 2022 for Nebraska before he was fired.

Frost, once a highly decorated coach in the college football landscape, will now take his talents to the NFL for the first time in his coaching career. While it may be his first time coaching in the NFL, he is no stranger to the game.

Frost played in the NFL for six seasons with the New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, Green Bay Packers, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The 49-year-old is a Nebraska native and is a Cornhusker through and through. Before becoming a professional football player, Frost began his college career at Stanford in 1993-94 before transferring back to his home state in 1995 to play for Tim Osborne.

He was a starter in two seasons at Nebraska and took the program to new heights. Frost redshirted in 1995 but was started for the next two seasons and recorded a 24-2 record, completed 192 passes, completed 53.5 percent of his passes, 2,677 passing yards, 18 touchdowns, and a passing efficiency rating of 128.8.

Frost won a national championship at Nebraska and then played safety at the NFL level. The former college star got his name as the head coach at UCF from 2016-17, going undrafted in his last season. The following season, he became the head coach for Nebraska and led the Huskers from 2018-22 until he got fired after Georgia Southern upset his team at home 45–42.

Frost became the first Nebraska head coach since Bill Jennings (1957–1961) not to have a winning season during his tenure. He recorded. 16-31 record and their best finish came T-5th in the West division of the Big Ten.

All that is behind Frost now as he enters one of the league’s best and up-and-coming football franchises. Since moving back to Los Angeles in 2016, the Rams have been one of the NFL‘s best and most stable franchises. They’ve made two trips to the Super Bowl, winning one or three division titles, and have made the playoffs five times.

The Rams will head into the 2024 season with high expectations after surprising many in the football world the previous season. Led by head coach Sean McVay and quarterback Matthew Stafford, we’ll see how Frost plants his flag in Los Angeles.
