Rudy Giuliani settles dispute over World Series rings and condo 01/12

NEW YORK – The former New York City mayor Rudolph Giuliani has reached a settlement agreement with two Georgia election workers regarding ownership of his Florida condominium and three World Series rings.

The $148 million judgement against Giuliani included the restitution of these funds.

A bench trial, which was scheduled to begin on Thursday, is now no longer necessary.

Giuliani was to be called as the first witness in a bench-trial to determine if he had to surrender his Florida condo and three World Series rings to satisfy the judgment of defamation against him. The money would be sent to , the two former Georgia Election Workers he had defamed. A jury in 2023 awarded Ruby Freeman, her daughter Shaye, and him $148 million for falsely accusing them of engaging in a fake voting scheme in Fulton County in Georgia.

Giuliani did not appear in court Thursday. The witness chair was empty as the clock ticked away.

“I’ve reached a decision”

Joseph Cammarata, an attorney for Giuliani, said that the lawyer would allow Giuliani to keep his New York coop and Florida condo, as well as all of his personal belongings.

Giuliani sent a social media message.

“I’ve reached a settlement of the litigation between myself and the plaintiffs which will result in the satisfaction of their judgment. This resolution does NOT involve any admission of fault or wrongdoing on the part of either party. I am happy with the outcome and do not have any grievances. I was able to keep my New York co-op and Florida condo and all my personal belongings. Threats, harassment or intimidation are not acceptable. All parties have suffered from this litigation. This entire episode was unfortunate. The message stated that “I and the Plaintiffs agreed to never speak about each other defamatorily, and I urge everyone else to do the exact same.”

The past four years were a living hell. We have fought for our names to be cleared, our reputation restored, and our innocence proven. Today marks a significant milestone in our journey. We are now able to move on with our lives. In exchange for compensation, and Mr. Giuliani’s promise to never defame the plaintiffs, we have agreed to let him keep his property.

Andrew Giuliani, son of former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani, said in court on Thursday: “I could not be more proud than I am now.”

Giuliani found guilty of contempt before

Last week, the judge found Giuliani guilty of contempt after he failed to provide information to the attorneys for the election workers about some of his assets. He was also prohibited from presenting some evidence.

Giuliani’s contempt was found last week in Washington D.C. The judge found that he had continued to slander election workers.
