Jelly Roll’s Wife Shares Calls With Wade Wilson: ‘Stone-Cold Murderer’

Bunnie Xo, the wife of Jelly Roll, says convicted Florida murderer Wade Wilson told his female supporters that they were having a relationship behind the country star’s back.

Monday’s episode of Bunnie’s Dumb Blonde podcast is part one of two episodes dedicated to Wilson, who is on death row for murdering Kristine Melton and Diane Ruiz in October 2019.

Bunnie, 44, reached out to Wilson asking if he would participate in a docuseries about his crimes that she hoped to pitch to Netflix or “something of that caliber.”

In one jaw-dropping phone call from June, Wilson told Bunnie that he wasn’t interested in participating in the doc unless he was compensated.

“I don’t care if nobody wants to pay me. Somebody will. I’ll just go do my own thing and mind my own business. If I’m gonna get to talking about anything, I’m going to get paid for that. I don’t really care about the fame. I don’t really care about nothing.”

“You think I’m some monster, and, you know, granted, maybe so, but even so monsters get paid. Everybody gets paid,” Wilson added.

Bunnie claims this phone call took place right after he was convicted of first-degree murder on June 12. Since then, multiple other women have come forward with abuse accusations against him.

In late August, Newsweek also spoke to some of Wilson’s former classmates about his “troubled” school years.

On September 20, Wilson and one of his female supporters, Jesse Techonia filed a lawsuit against the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and the State Attorney’s Office over the release of jail phone calls between them.

After all of that surfaced, Bunnie, who said she didn’t necessarily even want him in the documentary anymore, spoke with Wilson on the phone for a second time.

“Wade took it upon himself after that first phone call that we had to start giving my phone number out to random women to reach out to me,” Bunnie prefaced the second phone call. “He had this relationship with this girl online who was so sweet, and at first she was like, really mean to me, because Wade had told her that I was, like, trying to hook up with him, or I was talking to him behind my husband’s back, and we were having, like, some sort of relationship.”

“… I was just like, ‘this is absolutely false. This is not true. I was like, He’s outright lying. I’ve literally talked to him one time about doing a documentary, and I’ve emailed him probably two or three times. That’s it. There’s no talking. My husband knows that I’ve talked to him not one f–king time.'”

In the second phone call, Bunnie and Wilson argued about screenshots floating around social media that came from his legion of loyal female supporters.

“How about the part where you said ‘Wade says he’s talking to me because he thinks it’s cool?’ Do you think I’m infatuated with talking to you? Like you’re a big deal to me?” Wilson asked Bunnie.

“I think what I said with that’s being taken out of context,” Bunnie shot back. “They said, ‘Why did you interview Wade Wilson?’ And I said ‘Because I think women need to see the red flags and the warning signs of somebody who’s as charming as you. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it.'”

Newsweek has contacted Wilson’s lawyer and representative for Bunnie for comment.

The second phone call concluded with Bunnie telling Wilson that a production company wants to move forward with production for the docuseries but laws prohibit Wilson from being paid for his participation.

After a long pause, Wilson says, “Tell me what that law is. I’m gonna text my lawyer right now.”

Bunnie gave her final thoughts on Wilson, saying, “There’s nothing charming about him. There’s nothing cool about him. This man is just a stone-cold murderer, and it’s disgusting.

“If I’ve learned anything in this entire lesson it’s just to never, ever give somebody who could do the things that he’s done the benefit of the doubt … The one time that I want was willing to be open about something, I feel like it completely bit me in my ass.”

Part two of Bunnie’s podcast will include interviews with Ruiz’s sons, Brandon Cuellar and Zane Romero.
