JoJo Siwa appeared to make an unexpected reference — on stage — to the conspiracy theory that Beyoncé was somehow involved in Diddy’s alleged sex crimes.
On Tuesday, October 8, the 21-year-old “Karma” singer was giving an acceptance speech at the 2024 industry Dance Awards when she said into the mic that she wanted to thank Beyoncé “just so that we can keep the dancing community safe,” Siwa quipped.
The shout-out is part of a viral trend in which social media users publicly thank the “Texas Hold ‘Em” artist for random things so she or Diddy don’t “retaliate” against them. The trend is in response to the (baseless) conspiracy theory that Beyoncé and her husband, Jay-Z, were connected to Diddy’s alleged criminal behavior. (The Bad Boy was arrested last month and charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty to the federal charges.)

Meanwhile, Siwa’s speech left the audience stunned.
“Beyoncé, you’ve got great music. We all love to dance to it. We all love you,” she continued, before reacting to the shock from the crowd.
“Someone had to — and I will be the someone,” Siwa joked.
The former Dance Moms star isn’t the only star who has publicly commented on the Beyoncé/Diddy theory.
Earlier this week, in an extremely rare move, controversial British host Piers Morgan issued a public apology to Beyoncé and Jay-Z after one of the guests on his show Uncensored called Diddy and Jay-Z “monsters” and alleged that the power couple had their own victims.
“[Singer] Jaguar [Wright], unexpectedly, made several serious allegations about Jay-Z and Beyoncé during that interview,” Morgan stated. “As I said in the moment, they were not present to respond or defend themselves, but now they have. Their lawyers contacted us to say that those claims were ‘totally false’ and have no basis in fact, and we’ve therefore complied with a legal request to cut them from the original interview.” The Uncensored interview has since been edited.
Diddy — who is also facing sexual assault accusations from more than 100 people, including minors — is currently in jail as he awaits trial, where he plans to testify in court.
