Candidates Hit the Campaign Trail Today

The candidates are all out stumping on the campaign trail. Here’s where everyone will make appearances today.

Former President Donald Trump heads back to Harrisburg for a town hall event with Fox News host Sean Hannity. The town hall will be recorded at the Farm Show Complex’s New Holland Arena with doors opening at 3:30 p.m. The one-hour event begins at 5:30 p.m. and will air on Fox News at 9 p.m.

His running mate JD Vance will be speaking 3 p.m. at the Generation Church in Mesa, Arizona.

Vice President Kamala Harris is using a New Hampshire campaign stop on Wednesday to propose an expansion of tax incentives for small businesses — presenting a pro-entrepreneur plan that may soften her previous calls for wealthy Americans and large corporations to pay higher taxes.

Her running mate Tim Walz is barnstorming Pennsylvania on Wednesday and Thursday. He will host a series of political events in Lancaster, Pittsburgh and Erie, Pennsylvania.

This will mark the Governor’s first solo visit to the battleground state since joining the Harris-Walz ticket.

Donald Trump ‘Fuels Fire’ After Arlington Controversy: Ex-Aide

Former President Donald Trump‘s behavior following his visit to Arlington National Cemetery last week just “fuels this fire” and shows that he does not “respect” service members who gave the ultimate sacrifice, former Trump White House aide Alyssa Farah Griffin said on Tuesday.

Trump’s team has been assailed after reports circulated last week that members of his staff got into a physical altercation with Arlington National Cemetery officials after the former president’s campaign sought to film and take photographs in Section 60, the burial site of soldiers killed while fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The incident was first reported by NPR, and U.S. Army officials said in a statement a few days later that a cemetery employee had been “abruptly pushed aside” by a member of Trump’s campaign during the former president’s visit.

MAGA Attacks John McCain’s Son After Arlington Video Resurfaces

Jimmy McCain, the youngest son of the late Senator John McCain and an army intelligence officer in the 158th Infantry Regiment, recently endorsed Kamala Harris for president on Wednesday, accusing Trump of using the graves in Arlington, Virginia, as a “backdrop for a political campaign.”

Several MAGA-affiliated accounts online pointed out that in 1999, during John McCain’s campaign for president, the Arizona Senator released an advert detailing the military service of his father, his grandfather, and himself, which featured a 2-second clip of him walking through Arlington cemetery.

The ad talks about how McCain’s father and grandfather are both buried at Arlington, and about how McCain was held and tortured as a prisoner of war for five and a half years during the Vietnam War.

McCain’s Husband on Brother’s Kamala Endorsement

Meghan McCain’s husband has publicly addressed the endorsement of Kamala Harris by her brother, Jim McCain.

My brother in law is a wonderful dad who is always kind to our daughters. He’s served our country with distinction. He’s a Democrat and that’s fine – families can be split on politics and still love each other. Media tries to pretend this is impossible. All Americans know it is.

Harris Campaign Capitalizes on Jim McCain Endorsement

Tim McCain, the son of former Arizona Senator and presidential candidate John McCain, has endorsed Kamala Harris and condemned Donald Trump after the Trump’s campaign use of Arlington National Cemetery in a political event.

The Marine Corps soldier, who joined the army at the age of 17, branded the Trump campaign’s visit as “disrespecting sacred ground”, saying that he changed his political affiliation to Democrat and now intends to vote for Harris in November.

McCain said on CNN: “I feel that Kamala Harris and Tim Walz embody a group of people that will help make this country better and take us forward.”

“The least we can do is respect the rules and regulations in place at Arlington, like not politicizing the fact that these men and women are there.”

JD Vance Talks To Laura Ingraham

JD Vance Blames Kamala Harris for the Death of Israeli Hostages

JD Vance blamed Kamala for the recent deaths of six Israeli hostages, and claimed that her policies as vice president have put the world “on the brink of World War Three.”

“The reason these people lost their lives is because Kamala Harris’s foreign policy has led to chaos,” Donald Trump’s running mate said during a Tuesday morning interview with Fox News’s Laura Ingraham. “Whereas President Trump’s foreign policy led to peace and stability.”

On Sunday, Israel’s military said the bodies of six hostages had been recovered from a tunnel in Rafah, near Gaza’s Egyptian border. The deceased captives, which included one Israeli American, were among the hundreds captured by Hamas during its attacks on October 7. Vance took the news as evidence that a second Trump term would bring more stability than the past four years of Biden-Harris diplomacy.

“I actually think this is one of the most important selling points for President Trump’s agenda – is when you project American strength, and when you engage in smart diplomacy, you can keep the world from blowing up,” Vance said.

“Kamala Harris has us on the brink of world war three. The innocent people who died in Gaza are just the tip of the iceberg if we give this person more power.”
The Ohio Senator did not miss an opportunity to mock Kamala Harris’s recent interview with CNN’s Dana Bash, at which she was accompanied by her running mate Tim Walz.

“How can we possibly expect her to sit in a room with Vladimir Putin or Xi Jinping or the leaders of the world – she’s terrified to sit for a friendly interview,” Vance said. “We cannot trust this person to negotiate on behalf of this country. And she will blunder us into a third World War if the American people give her a promotion. That’s why we have to bring back Donald Trump.”

JD Vance Unperturbed By Walz’ Polling Lead

Ohio Senator JD Vance, former President Donald Trump’s running mate for the 2024 presidential election, appeared unphased by favorability polls that show him lagging behind his Democratic counterpart, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

In an appearance on FOX News, the Republican told host Laura Ingraham:
“I don’t put much stock in the polls, even the polls that show us ahead – and there are a lot of those these days.”

“What I put stock in is the wisdom of the American people and the fact that if we go out there, make our case, don’t hide behind a teleprompter but get out there and meet people, the American people are going to like me and Donald Trump,” the Hillbilly Elegy author said.

Polling aggregator FiveThirtyEight had Vance at 44.4 percent unfavourability and 33.9 percent favorability as of September 1.
Meanwhile, Walz’ favorability sat slightly higher at 39.6 percent, with an unfavourability of 34.8 percent.
