Medical research in jeopardy as Trump seeks to slash funding

Grants from the National Institutes of Health have helped create breakthroughs in cancer treatments, heart disease and vaccine development. But scientists from some of the nation’s top medical labs are warning that the Trump administration’s plan to cut $4 billion in funding for equipment and research staff could jeopardize medical progress.
