The Minnesota Fraternal Order of Police has announced that it “stands” with ICE.

In a press release, they said: “The hateful anti-law enforcement speech by Mayor Frey and others has made their job and that of local and state police officers more difficult and hazardous. It is dangerous and difficult enough to be a law enforcer without the constant agitation of leaders from our communities and state.

“FOP stands with ICE”

Minnesota Fraternal Order of Police condemns Rhetoric

The Minnesota Fraternal Order of Police (Minneapolis MN) stands with law enforcement officers across the nation. While Federal law enforcement in Minnesota has been doing its job, community and political leaders have condemned them and vilified.

Mayor Frey’s hateful anti-law enforcement speech and that of other politicians has made the jobs of local and state police officers and their own more dangerous. Law enforcement’s job is already dangerous and difficult without the agitation of leaders in our communities and state.

Due process gives citizens the right to a presumption that they are innocent when accused of committing a crime. Politicians and activists are quick to condemn law enforcement officers when an incident occurs. They scramble for soundbites. The same due process is not followed, but they are convicted in public courts of opinion before an investigation has even begun.

The Minnesota Fraternal Order of Police condemns the attacks on law enforcement. It calls on politicians to stop their anti-law enforcement rhetoric, and asks for calm until the facts are revealed.

With more than 382,000 active members, the National Fraternal Order of Police (NFOP) is the largest and oldest law enforcement organization in America.

The Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association has also stated that “Responsible and reckless rhetoric by political leaders against law enforcement can have real and dangerous effects for officers on patrol.”

David Titus, Interim Executive Director of the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association, said that (St. Paul) Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association.

The Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association is firmly committed to law enforcement officers and their accountability before the law. They also support the safety of all Minnesota communities.

The irresponsible and reckless rhetoric of political leaders against law enforcement can have real and dangerous effects for officers in the field. Officers who are demonized or used for political purposes can fuel hostility and embolden bad actors. They also put lives at risk.

MPPOA urges leaders to refrain from using inflammatory language, and to respect the legal and investigation process.”
