Owner Films One Dog, Then Sibling Accidentally Steals the Show

A dog owner was filming her dog hogging all the blankets when her other dog found the most hilarious way to get her attention and steal the show.

In a video shared on TikTok in August by @shessosam, one of the pups can be seen lying on the couch hugging not one but two fluffy blankets as his owner complains about how cold she is.

Meanwhile, the other dog, envious of his brother getting all the attention, came into the living room out of nowhere. Wearing a discarded tea box on his head, he walked up to his mom, proudly waving his tail at her.

“He was so proud of his treasure,” says a caption shared with the hilarious video.

The video quickly went viral on TikTok. It has so far received over 279,100 views and 63,800 likes on the platform.

One user, @Tiaarnold73, commented: “He’s like what’s up guys you like my hat.”

Commenter Savannah Narayan wrote: “He said, ‘What?? Mimi is hogging the covers and my ears are cold!”

“RIGHT on queue!! Dog: ‘Oh, you’re recording? Watch this!’ Very demure, very mindful, very cutesy!” said TikTok user Bobo Bailey.

The America Kennel Club (AKC) explains that while attention-seeking behaviors start innocently, they can quickly escalate to severe problems that can hurt your relationship with your dog. That’s why you should learn to identify and stop these unwanted behaviors promptly.

Attention-seeking behaviors are actions dogs perform to get their humans to notice them, including barking, whining, jumping on you, and anything else that can divert your attention from whatever you are doing to them.

While these behaviors are instinctive for dogs and cannot be stopped, you can teach your dog when they are appropriate and when they aren’t.

“Although it might be tempting to discipline your dog for what feels like acting out, there is nothing to be gained from taking that approach,” the website says, explaining that this will only enable the dog even more.

Newsweek reached out to @shessosam for comment via TikTok comments. We could not verify the details of the case.
