A pit bull raised by a cat has left the internet in hysterics for his adorable feline habit.
Zero, a 3-year-old American pit bull terrier has racked up 786,700 likes and 4.1 million views on TikTok. Raised alongside his 14-year-old tabby brother, Stepa, Zero’s mannerism mimics his feline counterpart, as he lies in the same position.
“Stepa came first but was used to dogs. Before we got Zero, we had set up a bed and crate for him and Stepa would often lay in both, meanwhile Zero would play with the cat tree,” Zero’s owner, known on TikTok as @zerothepigloaf, shared with Newsweek.
“So many kinds of bread around here,” the owner amusingly captioned the viral video, referring to the iconic feline “loaf position” in which cats sit with their paws tucked beneath their bodies.

The video opens with Stepa lying in the loaf position – a familiar sight to cat lovers. The camera then pans to Zero, in the same position, mimicking his older brother.
“Tell me your dog was raised by a cat without telling me,” the owner wrote on text overlaying the comical scene.
The “cat loaf” is a well-known feline behavior that shows a sense of security, as cats feel protected enough to tuck their limbs under their bodies.
Usually associated with felines, it’s amusing to see Zero the pit bull adopt the pose.
The bond between Zero and Stepa goes beyond their loafing habits.
Their owner explained: “Zero has a doorbell to push when he needs to go potty and we swear he sometimes pushes it for Stepa, as Stepa will be waiting by the door but isn’t trained with the doorbell, and Zero will come push.”
It’s a clear sign of how much these two have influenced one another.
Stepa, though now in his older years, is no stranger to canine behavior and remains highly spirited. Having grown up around large dogs, he’s known for being social and playful, eagerly sitting for treats like his dog siblings.
Meanwhile, Zero embodies the playful energy typical of his breed, loving to shred his toys and play fetch.
Viewers of the video couldn’t get enough of the unlikely pair, with comments pouring in celebrating the adorable dynamic between the two.
“I have a cat raised by dogs. I do not recommend it, haha,” joked Alyssa.
“My dog raised by cats lays on the coffee table. He is a husky,” shared Kenzie.
“That is freaking adorable. I’ve never seen a dog loaf,” marveled another viewer.
