The Los Angeles Rams will likely receive major reinforcements for their primetime matchup on Thursday against the Minnesota Vikings.

After the Rams’ crucial Week 7 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, head coach Sean McVay said that he expects superstar wide receiver Cooper Kupp to play in Week 8.

Kupp has missed the last four games due to a high ankle sprain. He was listed as questionable prior to Week 7, but all signs point to Kupp being well enough to play this Thursday night.

The 31-year-old All-Pro was back on the practice field earlier this week and during the Rams’ bye week last week. Kupp was only able to play five quarters and then some before he suffered the ankle sprain against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 2.

Kupp exploded for a huge game in Week 1 against the Detroit Lions prior to his injury. He recorded 14 receptions on 21 targets for 110 receiving yards and a touchdown. He appeared to be ready for another big season. Nontheless, with time still left on the season, Kupp and the Rams have plenty of time left to turn their season around.

L.A. came up huge in Week 7 to give the Rams their second win of the season against the Raiders, 20-15. The Rams’ defense didn’t allow a touchdown and forced four turnovers in the win, including a huge interception in the fourth quarter to seal the game.

The Rams are now 2-4 and will host one of the best teams in the NFC and NFL, the 5-1 Vikings. The Vikings have been one of the surprise teams thus far and just suffered their first loss of the season on Sunday to the Lions at home.

Both teams will be on short rest, and it appears they will each have their star wide receiver on their side.

While the news of Kupp is positive for the Rams, they still have many players who are not ready to return to the field, including their All-Pro wide receiver, Puka Nacua.

Nacua has been out since the first week of the season when he reaggravated his knee injury from training camp. Injuries have been a struggle for the Rams, but they will eventually get many of their top players back.

The only question is if they will get most of their players back just in time to salvage their season.

L.A. will look for an upset win over the Vikings this upcoming Thursday.
