Los Angeles Rams cornerback Tre’Davious White is ruled out for today’s crucial matchup against the Green Bay Packers.
White is a healthy scratch against the Packers. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero shared the news via Twitter/X.
The star cornerback has struggled mightily through the first four games, and this healthy scratch is not a great sign for the former All-Pro.

The Rams recently activated cornerback Darious Williams back from injury and promoted Ahkello Witherspoon from the practice squad. It’s safe to say that White has lost his starting job, and with the trade deadline looming, this time with the team could be coming to an end.
The others ruled out for their Week 5 matchup are Stetson Bennett, Cooper Kupp, Desjauan Johnson, Cody Schrader, Brennan Jackson, and Geron Christian Sr. White has been struggling, committing four penalties and allowing multiple touchdowns in coverage.
The 29-year-old came to Los Angeles to find himself after starting his career in Buffalo, but that has not been the case thus far. The Louisana native signed a one-year, $10 million contract with the Rams this past offseason.
White has not been the same, suffering from injuries starting in 2021. The former All-Pro suffered a torn ACL in 2021 during a Thanksgiving game against the Saints. He suffered a non-contact injury to his left knee in the second quarter and was ruled out of the game after halftime. He appeared in 11 games and started all before his injury.
The following season, he made his debut a year after tearing his ACL. He appeared in six games and both of the Bills’ postseason games, starting all of them. However, last season, he suffered a non-contact lower leg injury, which ended up being a torn Achilles tendon. White played in only four games last season.
It’s been a struggle for White on and off the field, and it continues for the former All-Pro in Los Angeles.
In his career, White was named a two-time All-Pro, two-time Pro Boplwer, NFL interceptions co-leader, and a PFWA All-Rooie Team in 2017.
The Rams will now look to lean on Williams and Witherspoon. Both of these guys are familiar with the Rams’ defense and organization. Williams played in L.A. from 2018-21 before leaving for Jacksonville for the last two seasons.
Witherspoon is back in L.A. after he spent the 2023 season with the team. He failed to sign with a team in the offseason before the Rams signed him to the practice squad last month.
