A Homeland Security official said Tuesday that the Biden administration had “barely vetted”, the Afghani migrant who was accused of shooting at two National Guardsmen last week in Washington, D.C.
According to Fox News host John Roberts, the alleged shooter Rahmanullah Lakanwal did not undergo several standard background checks when he came to the United States as part of Biden’s “Operation Allies Welcome”, a program which brought 77,000 people from the war-torn country following the botched American troop withdrawal.
John Ratcliffe, director of national intelligence, revealed last week that the Biden administration had allowed Lakanwal to enter the U.S. due to his previous work with federal agencies in Afghanistan, such as the CIA. CBS News reported that he received asylum in April.
“We saw this terrorist here. He was barely vetted. There was no biometric screening, no criminal background checks, no cyber background checks, no financial background checks. McLaughlin stated that they had taken some people at their word and did not do any background checks.
