Scooter Braun, the music executive linked to Taylor Swift‘s master recordings, is officially ready to move on from their contentious history.

The infamous fallout between the two was recently spotlighted in the two-part Max documentary, Taylor Swift vs. Scooter Braun: Bad Blood, which explores their rivalry in detail. According to Deadline, after watching the film himself, the 43-year-old deduced his own opinion on it and shared it at the Bloomberg Screentime event in Los Angeles.

At the event, which took place from October 9-10, Braun shared his reluctance to watch the documentary initially, believing it would simply portray him negatively. “I wasn’t going to watch it because I just thought it was going to be, like, another hit piece,” he confessed. After encouragement from his parents, however, he decided to see it for himself.

Scooter Braun speaks during a rally calling for the release of the hostages during heavy rain outside The Museum of Art known as the ‘The Hostages and Missing Square’ on December 23, 2023 in Tel Aviv, Israel. Braun recently reacted to a documentary about he and Taylor Swift’s feud over her music rights.

In a bid to move forward, the CEO remarked, “Look, it’s five years later. I think everyone, it’s time to move on.” He went on to say, “I think that it’s important in any kind of conflict that people actually communicate directly with each other,” suggesting that much of the portrayal of their feud was inaccurate, stating that true communication is essential to resolving conflicts. “When people actually take the time to stand in front of each other and have a conversation, they usually find out the monster’s not real.”

The conflict between Braun and the 14-time Grammy winner began back in 2019 when his company, Ithaca Holdings, purchased Big Machine Records, the label that had been home to 34-year-old Swift’s career until 2018. This deal included the rights to her first six albums, and the pop star was reportedly unaware of the sale until after it had occurred. She expressed frustration over not being notified in a statement on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “This was the second time my music had been sold without my knowledge.”

Following the sale of her masters to Shamrock Capital in 2020, Swift took matters into her own hands by re-recording her albums, releasing them as Taylor’s Version. The “Fortnight” songstress has not made any public comments about Braun as of late.
