Security Cam Captures Dog’s Reaction to Finding Owner Asleep in His Bed
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

An owner who slipped off for a quick power nap on his dog’s bed discovered through the security camera that his dog wasn’t too happy.

The owner looked back at the home security camera to see what his Italian bulldog Gino was doing when he accidentally fell asleep in the doggy bed. He told Newsweek via TikTok that he only slept for about 30 minutes. However, based on Gino’s reaction, that was 30 minutes too long. It was his bed and Gino’s owner never even asked permission to use it, but the owner said it was payback for all the times Gino’s taken over his bed.

In the October 21 TikTok video posted to the account @gino_theitalianbulldog, Gino stood beside his owner who took up his entire bed. Betrayed, a frown came over his face. He couldn’t believe his owner would take over his bed without leaving any room for him.

But instead of speaking his mind, Gino stayed put as his anger slowly bubbled up inside him. He figured there was no point in waking up his owner and that he would give him a piece of his mind later. Eventually, it became too much to look at his owner and Gino turned his back.

The caption, coming from Gino’s mind, reads: “Ummmm whats going on here!”

The owner never intentionally meant to make Gino upset. He thought there was enough room on the doggy bed for both of them to sleep, just as it is when they sleep together on the owner’s bed.

“I thought he would at least join me!” the owner said. “But I think he felt bad and just wanted to make sure I was protected.”

Dogs understand that sleeping puts you in a vulnerable position and as pack animals, they have a natural desire to protect. An article from Vet Explains Pets shared dogs enjoy sleeping with their owners because it allows them to keep a watchful eye on the surroundings. They’ll be the first ones to alert the owner of any potential dangers or intruders.

Within one day, the TikTok clip amassed over 580,500 views, 69,400 likes and 171 comments.

“He’s looking like, ‘You owe me for this!'” commented a viewer, to which the owner replied that Gino received more than the “normal amount of cookies the next day.”

“I bet he is plotting his revenge,” said a second TikTok user.

A third person wrote: “He is like…something is wrong here.”
