Steelers Receive Huge Injury News on RB Jaylen Warren
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Pittsburgh Steelers dropped their second consecutive loss on Sunday, but the team is still in a good place at 3-2. The good news is the team is also getting healthy at the right time.

More news: Russell Wilson Will Be Active for Steelers in Week 6: What Does That Mean for Justin Fields?

Quarterback Russell Wilson finally practiced in full, and is ready to take over should anything befall Justin Fields. While many believed that Wilson would immediately start once back, Fields has been playing some good football. He has thrown 961 yards, five touchdowns, and one interception in five games.

Head coach Mike Tomlin announced that Wilson will play backup in Week 6. This is great insurance in case Fields goes down or starts not living up to expectations.

The Steelers also got some great news about budding star running back Jaylen Warren.

According to Adam Schefter, “Steelers now have removed running back Jaylen Warren from the injury report ahead of Sunday’s game against the Raiders.”

Warren has now been taken off the injury report altogether. Initially, Warren popped up on this week’s injury report Wednesday and Thursday with a knee injury. He has now practiced fully and will be a full go on Sunday.

Despite having Najee Harris, his play has been a bit up and down this season. His best game so far came in Week 1 when he secured 70 yards on the ground.

Warren began to show how solid he is as a running back in 2023, securing 784 yards and three touchdowns, along with 370 receiving yards. Warren rejoining the team will add another weapon for this Steelers offense.

The Steelers have only eclipsed 100 yards on the ground twice this season. They secured 114 yards on the ground against the Los Angeles Chargers and 133 yards on the ground in Week 4 against the Indianapolis Colts.

With Warren coming back from injury, the Steelers might start putting together a more balanced run game. Harris is still the lead back, but Warren proved in 2023 that he could be a strong dual-threat option for the offense.

Week 6 is nearly here, and the Steelers are set to face off against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders have not been a highly defensive team and just lost defensive lineman Christian Wilkins to IR.

With a depleted defensive line, the Steelers might be able to put up good numbers on the Raiders. After back-to-back losses, the Steelers need to rebound.

The next obstacle for the Steelers is Tomlin to determine if he will start Wilson. However, should Fields put together another big win on Sunday, he might just solidify his starting quarterback status.
