The 36-year-old’s journey to the Olympics began through her husband, Samuel Free, who introduced her to the sport. Before breaking, she had a background in jazz and ballroom dancing, as per her Olympic profile.

Although her performance earned her zero points against competitors from the U.S., France, and Lithuania, it quickly went viral, garnering both criticism and praise. Some appreciated her creativity, while others took to social media to mock her moves.

Despite the mixed reactions, Raygun stood firm, proud of what she brought to the stage. “I was never going to beat these girls on what they do best — their power moves,” she told ESPN after her performance. “What I bring is creativity.”
