Reports suggest that Putin may be willing to meet Zelenskyy in person.
After the Trump-Putin phone call on Wednesday, the U.S. President also spoke to Zelenskyy and European leaders about the possibility of a trilateral summit.
Moscow, which has so far refused to meet directly with Putin and Zelenskyy, hasn’t appeared likely to host a trilateral summit any time soon. The Kremlin’s foreign policy adviser noted on Wednesday that such a potential meeting was “mentioned” but “not discussed.”
Later reports suggested that Putin might be willing to meet face-to-face with Zelenskyy if “conditions” were met. However, it is unclear what those conditions are.
Putin has allegedly said that Ukraine will have to formally renounce the areas of Donetsk & Luhansk which Moscow illegally annexed in 2022 but does not fully control.
