The Supreme Court will hear arguments regarding Donald Trump’s efforts to end birthright citizenship.

The Trump administration requested that the Supreme Court intervene.

Fox News reported:

Oral arguments will be heard by the Supreme Court on Thursday regarding a challenge against President Donald Trump’s attempt to end birthright citizenship. The court will also hear whether lower courts who have prevented Trump’s policies to take effect nationwide have exceeded their authority.

The 6-3 conservative majority’s decision could have wide-ranging implications for Trump as his attorneys fight against a barrage of lawsuits filed in federal courts across the country.

The Supreme Court’s arguments will likely focus on the lower court judges from Maryland, Massachusetts and Washington State who issued “universal injunctions” against Trump’s executive order regarding birthright citizenship earlier this year.

In March, the Trump administration requested that the Supreme Court intervene to limit the scope and impact of three lower court decisions to only those individuals who were directly affected by the relevant courts. (Or potentially the 22 states which challenged Trump’s Executive Order). This is unlikely to be a major theme of the high-profile discussion on Thursday.

Donald Trump called it “a big case” in a post on Truth Social.

Truth Social:

The Supreme Court of the United States heard a big case today. Birthright Citizenship wasn’t meant to be used by people who take vacations in order to become permanent citizens of the United States of America and bring their families along with them while laughing at us “SUCKERS”. Nobody knows why, but the drug cartels are happy about it. For the sake of political correctness, we are a STUPID Country. In reality, it’s the exact opposite. It is another factor that contributes to the dysfunction in America. Birthright Citizenship refers to the children of slaves. The Civil War ended in the year 1865. The Bill was introduced to Congress in 1866 and passed soon after. Illegal Immigration was not the issue. People from around the world have been SCAMMING our country for years. It was about the Civil War and babies born to slaves, who were deemed by our politicians as needing protection. Please explain to the Supreme Court of the United States. Remember, the Civil War ended 1865 and the Bill was sent to Congress in the year 1866. We did not have people flooding into our Country all the way from South America and other parts of the World. It wasn’t a topic. We had BABIES FROM SLAVES. We appreciate your interest in this issue. This is a very important case. Good luck. God bless the USA!
