Senate Republicans are preparing for another big vote, this time on some DOGE cuts.

Some Republicans have voiced their concerns about the cuts in the bill.

Fox News reported:

Senate Republicans are preparing to claw back billions in foreign aid and funding for public broadcasting, but there is some dissent among those who may not agree with President Donald Trump on his request.

Senate Republicans have been publicly and privately growing concerned about the White House’s $9.4-billion rescissions plan. This package would cut $8.3-billion from USAID and over $1-billion from CPB, the government funded funding arm for NPR & PBS.

The cuts are a result of Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency, which has been hailed by Republicans for its mission of eliminating waste, fraud and corruption in the federal government.

Still, there are concerns and calls for change, notably in relation to the proposed cuts to the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief Fund (PEPFAR), and to the public broadcasting funds.

Publicly, Sens. Susan Collins, R.Maine, Mike Rounds R.S.D. and Lisa Murkowski R.Alaska have all voiced their concerns over the House passed bill, and are looking for changes that may reduce the cuts.

Donald Trump sent a letter to the Republican members of Congress saying that they should “adhere my Recissions bill and, in specific, DEFUND CORPORATION for PUBLIC BROADCASTING(PBS and NPR), as it is worse than CNN & MSDNC combined.”

He also warned that he would “not support or endorse” them if they voted against.

Truth Social:

I strongly urge all Republicans to support my Recissions bill and to DEFUND the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (PBS and NPR), as it is far worse than CNN & MSDNC combined. I will not support or endorse any Republican who votes to continue to broadcast this monstrosity. I appreciate your attention on this issue!
