Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has submitted a letter of resignation, the country’s parliamentary speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk has said.
Stefanchuk said Wednesday that Kuleba’s request to step down will be “considered at one of the upcoming plenary meetings” but did not specify when this would happen, the Kyiv Independent reported.
He posted on social media a photo of the handwritten resignation note by Kuleba, who has been foreign minister since 2020 and has been the face of Kyiv’s efforts to get weapons from foreign allies to fight Russia.
On Tuesday David Arakhamia, a Ukraine parliament deputy, warned that Wednesday would be “the day of resignations”, with over 50% of Zelensky’s cabinet members expected to be replaced.
