Where Owner Finds Italian Dog Sneaking Off to Leaves Viewers in Stitches
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

It doesn’t matter where you walk your dog. Somehow it always leads you toward a store hoarding treats, and a recent video showed viewers that Italian dogs are no different.

TikTok user @sophieminchilli spotted an owner searching for his dog in the streets in Italy. Like most dogs, this one let his nose search and guide him to a location where he could test his luck for a snack. The dog didn’t get too far, but he did find the perfect place to get a treat. The little rascal had found his way to a deli when the owner finally discovered him.

The dog begged for a slice of mortadella behind the counter when his owner snatched him up. Unashamed of his attempt at getting a delicious treat, the dog accepted his fate as he was carried out of the deli.

In the September 5 video, the owner held his dog in “air jail” and paraded him around the Italian streets. However, the small dog didn’t seem to mind, which made some viewers conclude that he got his deli treat or that this wasn’t his first rodeo.

The caption reads: “I swear Italian dogs have the best life.”

Although the dog was caught doing something he wasn’t supposed to be doing, it seemed like the owner wasn’t too upset. He held on to his dog to ensure he didn’t run away again, but he kept smiling the entire time as he walked down the street with his pet. The owner even snuck a kiss on the dog’s face and then held back laughter as he retold the story.

The TikToker who filmed the interaction put it best: “And in my next life I want to be an Italian dog.”

Newsweek reached out to @sophieminchilli via TikTok for additional comment.

‘Every Italian Dog Ever’

The TikTok video had amassed over 2 million views, 369,100 likes and 1,505 comments as of Wednesday.

“The way he’s resigned to his fate of air jail,” said a TikTok user. Another added: “Still gets a kiss on the head while being carried away from the crime scene.”

A viewer pointed out: “That dog is so unbothered. Must be a regular occurrence.”

As it turns out, Italian dogs seem to get spoiled with delicious treats whenever they’re out on a walk. One person wrote: “Every Italian dog ever…the grocery store downstairs gives mine ham and croissants every damn time.”
