The White House criticized CNN for a report that claimed Senate Minority leader Chuck Schumer and House Majority Leader Hakeem Jeffreys were not briefed about President Donald Trump’s strike against Iran.
Chuck Schumer was contacted before the strike. Hakeem Jeffries, however, could only be reached afterward.
Fake News is Here
Before the strike, the White House made courtesy calls with Congressional Leadership from both sides and spoke to @SenSchumer. Rep Jeffries was not able to be reached until the strike, but he received a briefing.

Karoline Leavitt June 22, 2020
Karoline Leavitt, White House Press Secretary, demanded that CNN retract an article published on Sunday claiming that Senate Minority leader Chuck Schumer and House Majority leader Hakeem Jeffreys were not informed about President Donald Trump’s strike against Iran.
…
Leavitt called out the report as “fake” news on X.
This is Fake News. The White House called Congressional Leadership on a bipartisan basis and spoke with @SenSchumer prior to the strike. @RepJeffries was not reachable until after the strike, but he had been briefed. Leavitt wrote: “@CNN, please retract.”
CNN has corrected the story.
Correction: This article has been updated so that it is clear that Senate Minority leader Chuck Schumer called the strike before, and not after.
CNN is fake.
