Though Timothée Chalamet‘s upcoming Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown may not be in theaters yet, fans are already noticing the actor’s post-film transformation.
Fans noticed that Chalamet had gained weight to play the music legend. Now, however, as he attends new press events, it appears the Call Me By Your Name star has dropped the weight he put on for the film. As a result, fans are divided on his new aesthetic, and have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to share their divisive thoughts.
Some Chalamet stans have noticed some of their fellow fans commenting on his weight, or hair — and are staunchly coming to the Oscar nominee’s defense.

Mega and frequently viral Chalamet stan account Club Chalamet shared an old photo of the actor, his curly hair mussed and his cheekbones notably defined, noting that he is not obligated to maintain any of his past aesthetics.
“If Timothée Chalamet has to look like this 24/7/365 (366 to include f**king Leap Year), then you’re not a real fan of his,” Simone Cromer, who runs Club Chalamet, wrote in a lengthy post. “You’re a shallow moron who is at the ready to judge him for his appearance if he doesn’t look like Prince Charming! Timothée Chalamet is more than his naturally wavy, chestnut brown hair caressing his cheekbones. He’s a human being!”
Cromer also noted that Chalamet is beginning production on a new film next week, which will require him to modify his appearance in some ways.
Another fan shared their support for Chalamet as well, saying, “It is ridiculous that some ‘fans’ get so triggered by his hair, lol. First off, actors change their hair styles a lot depending on if they are filming a role. Secondly, even if not for a role, he is allowed to have different hairstyles. Shouldn’t like someone just for their hair!”

Other fans have called for haters to step away from the internet and go live their own lives.
“more people have spoken up about it so i will too, don’t comment on timothée’s body,” one said. “firstly ppl are whining he has gained weight and now y’all are whining he has lost some weight. seriously go touch some grass or whatever.”

Amid the discourse, most fans reminded everyone that people are allowed agency over their own bodies.
“so many people complaining about his hair or his weight as if timothee’s body belonged to them,” another said.
