Kody Brown’s estranged relationship with some of his children is now causing a strain in his marriage to his wife, Robyn Brown.
On the Sunday, October 6th episode of Sister Wives, the pair engaged in a heated argument as Robyn, 45, was upset with Kody, 55, for not prioritizing his relationship with his older kids. Kody has 18 children, and shares his older ones with exes Christine Brown, Janelle Brown, and Meri Brown.
Robyn asked Kody to “reach out” more to the older children and explained that “they’re hurting.” She also compared Kody to her biological father, who she claimed created excuses for his absence in her life.

“I’m having a hard time not like feeling like losing respect for you a little,” Robyn confessed.
The pair went back and forth arguing. Kody told Robyn he feels his children are unduly punishing him. “They’re purposefully leaving me out of their lives to punish me for a crime I did not commit,” the reality star remarked. “I am only guilty of not falling madly in love with their mothers.”
“What has happened is in the divorce, in the divorces, is the ugly finger of blame has come out. ‘Dad, you were never at my house,'” Kody recounted. “I’m sorry, I had four wives. I was at your house, though, because the other wife was complaining that I was at your house.”
Kody brought up the toll that his relationship with his kids has taken on his marriage to Robyn. “You know what, Robyn, we’ve had such a struggle with this,” the father of 18 admitted. “I’d almost rather just take some time to get in a better place with you and me because I’ve been in this place for a very, very long time, and it’s hurt us more than it’s hurt them.”
“Thank you for saying that. I appreciate that,” Robyn replied. “It’s good to hear.”
Robyn shared that plural marriage can be very difficult on the kids. She pleaded with her husband to not give up on the kids saying, “Just promise me you’ll keep trying at least a little bit until you’re ready.”
Kody agreed with Robyn, admitting, “I don’t try enough, I know that. I’m too hot-headed right now.”
