A TikTok video featuring a dachshund named Wilson has taken the internet by storm, captivating viewers with his dramatic hair style transformation before and after his nap.

In the video, shared on Friday, under the username @wilsonthetinywiener, the pup, affectionately known as “the tiny wiener,” is initially seen with his fur impeccably groomed and shining.

However, after a nap, he wakes up with wildly disheveled “bed hair”, prompting comparisons to “Mini Wolverine” among amused viewers.

Dachshunds, known for their distinct appearance and lively personalities, have specific grooming needs to ensure their coats remain healthy and clean.

According to the Dachshund Breed Council, regular grooming is essential, especially for long-haired and wire-haired dachshunds like Wilson. Brushing helps prevent matting and keeps their coats shiny. For wire-haired dachshunds, coat stripping is recommended to maintain texture.

Bathing should be done occasionally, using dog-specific shampoos to avoid skin irritation. Maintaining a consistent grooming schedule not only keeps the dogs looking their best but also contributes to their overall health and well-being.

It is important that you don’t shave your dachshund dog as it can harm their coat and skin health, and that you avoid using human shampoos on them because they’re not formulated for dog skin and can cause issues.

While short-haired dachshunds are easy to groom at home, and only need professional grooming occasionally, those with longer fur need more complex care, like trimming and stripping, which is best performed by professionals.

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 1.3 million views and 268,100 likes on the platform.

One user, Haileyyyy, commented: “Wilson deserves his beauty sleep. It’s hard being a gentleman…”

Wilson said: “My name is also wilson, and him and I look the same after a nap.”

DailyDoseOfDoge wrote: “Why he got that supervillain haircut after his naps?”

Another user, Rosiemae241 said: “He’s a deep sleeper who most likely likes to be under the covers on his back.”

Britt added: “He looks like he turned into wolverine in his dream.”

Zoe Broekhuizen wrote: “Mini wolverine.”
