Just before the start of the first Sunday of the NFL season, star wide receiver Tyreek Hill was reportedly detained by police. A video shows Hill being put into handcuffs right outside Hard Rock Stadium, only hours before the Miami Dolphins are supposed to open their season against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter confirmed the report that Hill was detained by police while entering the stadium for a driving violation.

Hill is expected to still play in the game today according to his agent Drew Rosenhaus.
“I just left Tyreek and he is getting ready to play today.”
Luckily for Hill and the Dolphins, this wasn’t anything more serious. Having Hill out on the field is massive for Miami, especially playing against an AFC opponent like the Jaguars.
It’s rare to see a player get detained by police right outside a stadium, making this an unusual situation, to say the least. But in the end, disaster was avoided and it looks like Hill will suit up.

Hill has been one of the better wide receivers in the NFL in recent years, earning a massive contract extension from Miami. His speed on the field and ability to get into open space have allowed the Dolphins’ offense to flourish.

Last season, Hill posted 119 catches for 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns. It was his second straight season putting up 119 catches and over 1,700 yards receiving.
Alongside co-star wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, Hill has helped the Dolphins offense become one of the best in the entire NFL. Miami uses both players’ speed and agility to their advantage, making life extremely tough for the opposing defense.
The Dolphins use all sorts of movement across their offensive schemes, trying to find whatever way they can to have their receivers get into open space. They believe that if they can maximize the field, there isn’t any defensive unit in the NFL that can slow them down.
Miami is looking to get themselves back to the postseason this year and end their long playoff win drought. They ran into the Kansas City Chiefs a year ago and were bounced out in the wild-card round.
Getting off to a good start to the season will be huge for Miami so having Hill out on the field makes all the difference in the world.
