Although the “Honey Deuce” U.S. Open cocktail has gone viral this summer, it wasn’t the only drink on the menu when Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce joined Patrick and Brittany Mahomes at the U.S. Open on Sunday, September 8.

Instead, the “Champagne Problems” singer and her entourage reportedly drank four bottles of bubbly. The U.S. Sun and Page Six reported that Travis, Patrick, and Taylor put away three of the signature cocktails, plus four bottles total of Moët et Chandon sparkling wine — two rosés and two Champagne Impérials. Brittany Mahomes is pregnant with her third child, so therefore abstained from alcohol.

Mahomes and Kelce, the quarterback and tight end of the Kansas City Chiefs, won their first game against the Baltimore Ravens on September 5, so perhaps they were in a celebratory mood. The drinks were complimented by a veritable smorgasbord of courtside treats that reportedly included fish tacos, lobster rolls, filet mignon sandwiches, ribs, fries, and Van Leuwen ice cream for dessert.

Meanwhile, the double date has been scrutinized by Swift fans who had expected the “Down Bad” singer to repudiate Mahomes for her support of Donald Trump. Fan reaction to the outing has been divided. Some fans are disappointed in Swift for not speaking out about politics, while others think that too much is being expected of the singer.

“Seeing Taylor Swift hugging Trump supporter Brittany Mahomes is really disappointing, not gonna lie,” wrote one user on X (formerly known as Twitter.)

Another mentioned that Mahomes is a colleague and close friend of Kelce’s, so people might be reading too much into the relationship. “I have been nice to my husband’s colleagues’ wives knowing full well that I hate them and don’t agree with them about anything,” wrote the user.

Swift knows the way public opinion can shift “All Too Well” at this point, and she seems to be ignoring the discourse around her friendship with Mahomes. By all accounts, she “had a marvelous time” enjoying the U.S. Open with her boyfriend and their friends.
