Vice President Kamala Harris will visit Johnstown and Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania today.
In what many commentators consider a must-win state for the Democratic nominee, Harris is expected to underscore the contrast between her campaign for a “brighter, more hopeful future” versus her opponent’s “Project 2025 that will give Trump unprecedented, unchecked power to enact his extreme and dangerous agenda,” her campaign said.
Harris’ running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz will be campaigning in the other two key battlegrounds in that region: Michigan and Wisconsin. In the afternoon, he will participate in political events in Lansing, Michigan and deliver brief remarks at a Wisconsin Democratic Coordinated Campaign volunteer appreciation event in Wausau.
Second gentleman Doug Emhoff will visit Oxford, Mississippi and deliver remarks at a campaign reception. He is also expected to make an appearance in Central Florida for the New Way Forward battleground tour.
Former President Donald Trump will hold two events today as he continues traveling across Western states. The first, a press conference, will be in Los Angeles at noon EST, at the Trump National Golf Course in Rancho Palos Verdes. He then will hold a rally later in Las Vegas at 10 p.m. EST. He will talk about financial strains Nevada families are facing, according to his campaign.
There will also be a Team Trump Agenda 47 Policy Tour stop in Farmington Hills, Michigan. The event will feature Trump allies Vivek Ramaswamy and Alina Habba, among others. The event will start at 6 p.m. EST at the Farmington Hills Manor.

Former Obama aid says ‘easily manipulated’ Trump will have ‘extreme’ right-wingers in the White House
In a new episode of the podcast Pod Save America, co-host and former Obama aide Jon Favreau said Trump is “easily duped, he’s easily manipulated and he’s gonna have a bunch of extreme, extreme far-right people around him, more so than he ever has before that if he gets back to the White House are gonna do whatever the f*** they want because Donald Trump doesn’t really care because he’s easily manipulated. And I think that is a very effective argument for undecided swing voters.”
Favreau was responding to a comment from a 24-year-old undecided voter, given after the debate: “[Trump] doesn’t necessarily scare me, I think he’s incompetent. What scares me is the people he’s surrounded himself with, and how they can use him, Laura Loomer was on the plane with him. The Heritage Foundation and all the plans they have. It just seems like he’s a vessel for other people who are way more competent and have way more plans.”

Tulsi Gabbard Accuses DOJ of Dictatorship-Style Lawfare to Target Trump
Tulsi Gabbard has accused the Harris-Biden administration and the Department of Justice of conducting “lawfare” in an effort to undermine Donald Trump in the leadup to the election.
The former Democratic Hawaii Representative-turned Donald Trump ally gave an interview to Fox News on Friday morning, during which she accused Attorney General Merrick Garland of attempting to influence the 2024 election by focusing on Donald Trump’s criminal cases.
“This is the kind of thing that happens in dictatorships and authoritarian governments,” Gabbard said. “Where those who are in power – Kamala Harris and Joe Biden – are weaponizing the Department of Justice and law enforcement agencies, both at the federal level and the state level to take out their political opponent.”
Her comments came in response to a Thursday speech by Garland, in which the attorney general slammed accusations that the DOJ had targeted political opponents of Kamala Harris and Joe Biden.
“There is not one rule for friends and another for foes, one rule for the powerful and another for the powerless, one rule for the rich and another for the poor, one rule for Democrats and another for Republicans, or different rules depending on one’s race or ethnicity,” the attorney general said.
Garland’s speech, which did not name Trump, came amid increasing accusations from Republicans that the DOJ had been “weaponized” against the former president.
