The Kansas City Chiefs were dealt a big blow on Saturday as Marquise “Hollywood” Brown is expected to miss the rest of the 2024 regular season. ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported the news on social media.
He could potentially return in the postseason depending on how far the Chiefs can go.

There was some hope that Brown could return this week against the Cincinnati Bengals but a check on his shoulder showed that he needed surgery.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said that Brown would be out for a few months earlier this week but this is a signal that his injury is more serious. Brown took to social media on Friday to express his disappointment.
“Disappointed , frustrated, and Sad was the first wave of emotions once I realized I would need surgery but that only lasted a day or so because Of my Faith in God. 🙏🏿 knowing that this to shall pass , no matter the great opportunity I had in front of me. It’s not over and that’s not the path God wanted for me and I’m perfectly fine with that now. This is a massive loss for the Chiefs who were hoping Brown would be a key piece in their quest to win a three-peat. Kansas City will have to rely on their other weapons moving forward but luckily, they heavily improved at the wide receiver position this offseason.

Kansas City brought in a ton of speed, drafting Xavier Worthy out of the University of Texas. Worthy has already shown his worth this season, catching two passes for 47 years and a touchdown in Week 1.
Brown has had an interesting career, posting only one season over 1,000 receiving years. However, he is a speedster that would have given Kansas City a new dynamic to their offensive attack.
The Chiefs also have Rashee Rice, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and of course, star tight end Travis Kelce. Kansas City should be fine without Brown but any other injuries could heavily complicate matters.
