Elizabeth Debicki may have made history at the 2024 Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday, but it is Mia Khalifa’s comment about it that is taking off online.
Debicki became the first Australian actress to win the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series Emmy which she was awarded for her role playing Princess Diana in the final two seasons of Netflix’s The Crown.
As the 34-year-old took to the stage during the live telecast, the camera cut to her fellow nominee, Nicole Beharie, who seemed to be saying “she’s so pretty” about Debicki. Beharie was nominated for her work in the Apple+ TV series, The Morning Show.

Khalifa, a model and outspoken influencer, noticed Beharie’s reaction and took to X, formerly Twitter, with her reaction.
“Whoever just mouthed ‘she’s so pretty’ as Elizabeth Debicki walked by to accept her Emmy, you’re so real,” Khalifa posted on Sunday.
Newsweek contacted Khalifa, Beharie and Debicki’s representatives by email outside of office hours.
Khalifa’s fans reacted to her post in the replies.
“What i say about you every time you grace my feed,” wrote @bunnyscake.
“Well said Mia. You are real,” commented @keshav_shashi.
And @haseenagul31672 replied, “It’s always nice to see genuine moments of admiration and support at such events.”

During her acceptance speech, Debicki revealed the reason she had not prepared an acceptance speech in advance.
“I didn’t write anything down because I’m very superstitious and now I’m in a real pickle,” she said. The actor thanked the show’s creator Peter Morgan, saying: “Thank you for making this show. Thank you for trusting me with this. Playing this part, based on this unparalleled, incredible human being has been my great privilege. It has been a gift.”
The Australian actress has also won a Golden Globe, a Screen Actors Guild Award and a Critics Choice Award for her portrayal of Princess Diana. The final two seasons of the Netflix drama portrayed the British Royal Family in the years after her divorce from Prince Charles, her relationship with Dodi Fayed, and their subsequent deaths in Paris in 1997.
Debicki and Beharie were nominated in the supporting actress category alongside Christine Baranski for The Gilded Age, Lesley Manville in The Crown, and Beharie’s co-stars in The Morning Show, Greta Lee, Karen Pittman and Holland Taylor.
Other big winners of the night included the FX drama Shōgun, which picked up 18 awards, including Outstanding Drama Series. It also broke the record by winning more awards than any other series in a single year.
Netflix’s Baby Reindeer won six awards including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series and wins for the show’s stars Richard Gadd and Jessica Gunning.
Hacks beat The Bear for Outstanding Comedy Series but the latter still won big on Sunday, picking up 11 Emmys, the second-most of the evening.
