Sometimes, the best touchdowns happen off the field. This was exactly the case for a young Kansas City Chiefs fan, whose birthday surprise brought him to tears.

In a video posted to TikTok on Thursday, September 5, the freshly minted 7-year-old thought it was just another day in the parking lot until his dad handed him a red gift bag. “Happy early birthday, buddy,” he said.

Before facing the Bengals, the Super Bowl champ clinched a win against the Ravens, making his young fan’s day even brighter.

Caught on camera by his mom, Whitney Belknap, the youngster asked, “What is it?” as he pulled out a red Chiefs jersey — which Today’s Hota Kobt claims is a Travis Kelce jersey. Without skipping a beat, his dad proudly exclaimed, “We’re going to the Chiefs game today!”

Almost instantly, the birthday boy began to sob. “Oh my god,” he wailed, shoving his face into his gift before whispering, “Love you,” to his parents. When asked why he was crying, he simply replied, “I’m just so happy.”

After the clip was posted on social media, it didn’t take long for comments to pour in.

“oh i love this and that he’s allowing himself to cry those happy tears 😭 so beautiful!!” one person expressed.

“I’m not crying at 9am…. So happy for you Little Chief Fan! Happy Birthday and Go Chiefs!!!!” another person said.

“Congratulations little man 👍, Let’s go. Chiefs 👍💪” chimed in a third.

“Love this for him. Chiefs Kingdom is magical ✨❤️” gushed another fan.

The proud mom later told Storyful, per Good Morning America, that her son is a “huge” Kansas City fan and before his special day, he was upset that he didn’t get the chance to cheer on his favorite team from the sidelines during any of the 2024 preseason games. “We just knew surprising him with tickets to the home opener for his 7th birthday would blow his mind,” Belknap said, adding, “And sure enough, it did.”

The game proved to be a spectacular one. Taking place at Arrowhead Stadium, the Kansas City Chiefs claimed victory over the Baltimore Ravens with a 27-20 score. It was the perfect kickoff to the 2024 NFL season, made even more special with the 34-year-old Super Bowl champ’s girlfriend, pop sensation Taylor Swift, who was spotted cheering in the stands.
