Cat Who Was ‘Wide Receiver’ in Past Life Goes Viral for Incredible Skills

A cat owner has left the internet in hysterics after sharing a video of his feline’s incredible football skills, speculating that he must have been a player in a past life.

The hilarious video, shared on TikTok in September by @la._.reina62, shows the gray cat playing ball with his owner while his feline brother lies unbothered on the floor.

As the poster throws the ball toward the cat, he performs a high spin jump, stretching his arms up to reach the ball. Despite dropping it in the end, the cat’s incredible jump left his owner astonished.

“POV: your cat was a wide receiver in his past life,” says a caption shared along with the viral video.

Teaching your cat to play fetch with you may seem difficult, but it’s certainly not impossible. Pet MD explains that the first step to making this happen is to find the perfect space free of interruptions or obstacles.

You should use your cat’s favorite toy, something that they’ll actually want to fetch. Then, give them treats to reward their behavior and mark the behavior by telling them “fetch” or “good fetch” so that they learn to associate it with the reward.

Make sure you catch your cat when it’s fully awake and alert. It’s better to start before mealtime. You can then slightly increase the toy’s value and advance the game as your cat becomes more experienced.

“Build on little steps of success. Your cat may only fetch once or twice before they don’t want to do it anymore. When that happens, end the session. Remember, this should be a fun experience for both you and your cat. Never force your cat to do something she doesn’t want to do,” the website added.

The video quickly went viral on TikTok. It has so far received over 3.9 million views and 833,800 likes on the platform.
