Mary Trump Has a Five-Word Description of Her Uncle

Former President Donald Trump‘s estranged niece has described her uncle as a “failure as a human being.”

In a Sunday blog post titled Sundays, Failing the Test, Mary Trump talked about what she believes to be her uncle’s “cognitive issues.”

The comments came shortly after Mary Trump hit back at the former president’s recent social media post about women’s issues. Posting on Truth Social, Trump lambasted the current state of affairs for women in America, writing that they are “POORER,” “LESS HEALTHY,” and “LESS SAFE,” than they were four years ago, before he promised to “FIX ALL OF THAT, AND FAST.”

Mary Trump hit back, writing: “So says the rapist.”

Newsweek contacted Trump’s campaign via email for comment.

The psychologist and author, who is the daughter of Donald Trump’s deceased brother Fred, has been a prolific critic of the former president. Her book, Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created The World’s Most Dangerous Man, published in 2020, was critical of Trump.

“The truth of the matter is that Donald Trump has been “failing the cognitive test” for a very long time,” Mary Trump wrote in the Substack. “He’s been failing other tests as well: He’s a failure as a human being – he has no empathy; he is a failure as a moral being – he is amoral.”

Mary Trump wrote that Trump had taken the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), under the advice of then-White House doctor and now-Congressman Ronny Jackson, while he was in office.

Mary Trump describes this test as: “A screening exam administered when doctors think their patients might be suffering from early stages of dementia or Alzheimer’s.”

She then says that “everybody who is cognitively intact is supposed to pass it [the test].” She states that Trump had been bragging about passing this test, which to Mary Trump’s eye: “Was failing the cognitive test.”

Mary Trump is not the only person critiquing Trump’s cognitive abilities. Last week, Tony Schwartz, the former journalist and now vocal critic of Trump who ghostwrote the bestselling The Art of The Deal, said that Trump has “lost a great deal mentally” and can no longer inspire enthusiasm.

Mary Trump continued that many of her uncle’s performances over the last few years have been similar “failures.”

“While his reaction to the 2020 election and his inciting of an insurrection were moral and characterological failings, they also pointed to this psychological and emotional inability to deal with reality.”

“The recent debate – and the way he’s been talking about the debate – have similarly been cognitive failures.”

During an appearance on MSNBC‘s Deadline: White House after the debate, Mary Trump said that her uncle had suffered a “resounding defeat,” which she described as “A narcissistic injury that he will never get over.”

“Donald’s fear of failure is so intense and deep that he needs to create a delusional system so that he can convince himself and other people that his lies are truth,” Mary Trump wrote in the Substack.

She continued: “We need to make sure that Donald Trump loses badly. We know what we’re fighting for and against.”

In a statement previously shared with Newsweek the Trump campaign said: “Trump Derangement Syndrome is a serious issue and some people like her [Mary Trump] need to get checked out.”

Newsweek has contacted Mary Trump for comment via Facebook.
