The makers of the party game Cards Against Humanity have accused Elon Musk‘s space exploration company, SpaceX, of taking over its land in Texas.

Photos filed in a Texas court show SpaceX construction equipment, vehicles and gravel piles in what Cards Against Humanity says is its land. SpaceX carries out numerous rocket tests from its nearby launch site.

Cards Against Humanity crowdsourced the funds to buy the land in 2017 so that it could stop President Donald Trump from building his border wall along the Mexico border.

The company is now looking for $15 million in compensation from SpaceX after its lawyer, Kenneth McKay, filed a lawsuit in a Texas court.

The lawsuit said that the intrusion is particularly egregious as Elon Musk is an avid supporter of Donald Trump and association with him could damage Cards Against Humanity’s liberal brand.

“The 2017 holiday campaign that resulted in the purchase of the property was based upon Cards Against Humanity undertaking efforts to fight against injustice, lies and racism. Thus, it is particularly offensive that these egregious acts against the property have been committed by the company run by Elon Musk,” the lawsuit states.

It says that Musk has been accused of creating an intolerant culture at his electric car company, Tesla.

“As is widely known, Musk has been accused of tolerating racism and sexism at Tesla and of amplifying the antisemitic ‘Great Replacement Theory’. He has endorsed Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign, promising to donate $45 million per month to pro-Trump Super PAC and has expressed public support for building Trump’s wall.”

Newsweek sought email comment on Monday from SpaceX and Elon Musk.

Musk has repeatedly denied allegations of sexism and racism, both in court documents and in interviews.

The lawsuit, filed on September 19, adds that Cards Against Humanity has a unique relationship with its customers that Musk has now damaged.

“As part of CAH’s 2017 holiday campaign, while Donald Trump was President, CAH created a supporter-funded campaign to take a stand against the building of a Border Wall.

“This, in its own creative way, was CAH’s effort to draw attention to another example of injustice.”

The company said it wanted to highlight “the hubris on the part of a high-profile billionaire who was more interested in his own aggrandizement than in the good of the people.”

“150,000 people each paid $15 toward this effort, which resulted, in part, in the purchase of a plot of vacant land in Cameron County, based upon CAH”s promise to ‘make it as time-consuming and expensive as possible for Trump to build his wall.'”

Newsweek sought email comment from Trump’s attorney on Monday.
SpaceX test rockets are a well-known feature of life in Cameron County, Texas, where the lawsuit has been filed.

The county government announced in early September that, for public safety reasons, it would close Boca Chica Beach and Highway 4 on September 23, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. to allow SpaceX to carry out rocket experiments.
