Vice President Kamala Harris will be interviewed by Stephanie Ruhle in Pittsburgh Wednesday night, in what will be her first one-on-one network interview since becoming the Democratic nominee.

The interview will air on MSNBC at 7 p.m. ET and coincides with Harris’ fourth visit to the area since launching her campaign, according to a news release from the Harris campaign. Pennsylvania is a key battleground state; no Democrat has won the White House without the Keystone State since 1948.

MSNBC’s announcement follows criticism over the lack of media interviews the vice president has done. Reporting from Axios and The Telegraph earlier in September revealed that the Harris-Walz campaign were giving fewer interviews than any candidates in modern history.

Harris and Walz are yet to hold a press conference either, according to Axios. Trump has so far given three, and Vance has given 12.

Vance responded to news of Harris’ MSNBC interview in a post on X, formerly Twitter: “This is legitimately pathetic for a person who wants to be president. Ruhle has explicitly endorsed Harris. She won’t ask hard Qs. Kamala runs from tough questions because she can’t defend her record. If you want open borders and high groceries, vote for status quo Kamala.”

Wednesday’s interview will air as part of a special two-hour edition of All In with Chris Hayes, according to Deadline.

Harris has given multiple interviews to local media outlets and podcasts, and in August she was interviewed on CNN alongside Tim Walz. The interview was hosted by Dana Bash and was aired as a one-hour primetime special.

On September 19, Harris was interviewed by Oprah Winfrey as part of a live streamed event. Harris has also been interviewed by the National Association of Black Journalists and gave a solo interview on local Philadelphia outfit 6ABC.

According to Fox News, Harris will lay out further plans about her “opportunity economy,” on Wednesday, in a partial rejoinder to Trump’s economic speech on Tuesday in Georgia.

Harris received the endorsement of 400 Independent Economists and Economic Policy Experts on Tuesday, according to the Harris campaign.

In a statement shared with Newsweek, the campaign said that: “With both Vice President Kamala Harris and Donald Trump set to speak on the economy this week, more than 400 independent economists and economic policy experts endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for President, praising her vision for an Opportunity Economy that supports middle-class families and small businesses.”

Polling from CNN shows that 4 out of 10 voters in Pennsylvania view the economy as the top issue in the election, making it one of Harris’ key talking points.
