The Cleveland Browns are off to a rough start in 2024. The team is heading into Week 4 with a 1-2 record, and the former Super Bowl contenders don’t appear to be as tough as they were in 2023. Granted, it is still early in the season.

According to Jordan Schultz, “Browns All-Pro and reigning Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett will not practice today. The team has listed him with three injuries: Achilles, foot, and thigh. One of the toughest players in the NFL, Garrett is planning to play through it all.”
Garrett is currently dealing with an Achilles, foot, and thigh injury. All three could cause some significant issues for the defensive end, but the scariest of the three might be the Achilles.

The worst-case scenario for Achilles injuries is a tear, which would sideline Garrett for the rest of the 2024 regular season. Whatever is going on with this particular injury is likely to cause concern for Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski.
Losing Garrett for an extended period would severely dampen the pass rush the Browns have. It would be believed that Stefanski would want to bring Garrett along slowly to ensure he is fully healthy before returning to the field.
The good news is the Browns are set to take on the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, and that team has also been struggling. Still, it would be better if Garrett was on the field attempting to terrorize Raiders quarterback Gardner Minshew.
So far, Garrett is not practicing today, but that does not mean he won’t suit up for Sunday. He has the rest of the week to work through the multiple injuries he currently has and attempt to make it on the field.
Stefanski might allow Garrett to be used in a limited snap type of situation if he shows signs of quick healing. Then again, Garrett might have to be sidelined to allow him to fully heal.

After the matchup with the Raiders, the Browns will take on the Commanders. That will be a game where having Garrett is paramount considering how well Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels is playing.
For now, Garrett is being withheld from practice, and another day not practicing might mean he won’t be suiting up for Sunday’s practice.
