Writer E. Jean Caroll previewed a new movie Wednesday, centered around her testimony in the sexual abuse case against former President Donald Trump.
In a trailer for E. Jean Carroll V. Donald J. Trump, Carroll’s testimony will be voiced by different actors after it went unrecorded in a New York courtroom in 2023.
“He lied and shattered my reputation, and I am here to try and get my life back,” Lexi Underwood, Kathryn Hahn and Ellen Burstyn are all heard saying.

The writer claimed she was raped in a New York City department store by Trump in the 1990s. A jury found him liable for sexual abuse and defamation but not for rape.
Trump has vehemently denied the allegations, saying—as shown in the trailer—that he did not know Carroll and “never met her.” He also went as far to say they had been fabricated and called the case a “con.”
The accusations led to Trump also being found liable for defamation, with Carroll awarded more than $85 million in damages.
“Being able to get my day at court is everything to me. I could not be more proud,” Burstyn, known for The Exorcist and Requiem for a Dream, is heard as she reads Carroll’s words.
Actress Regina Taylor will also star alongside Carroll’s voices from Burstyn, Hahn (Bad Moms, Agatha All Along)and Underwood (Little Fires Everywhere and The First Lady).
The new movie, which will be released October 3, will mean Carroll’s side of the story as told in the courtroom is voiced publicly for the first time, after previously appearing only in court reports.
“E. Jean Carroll V. Donald Trump is not just a film; it is a call to action,” the video’s description reads on YouTube. “As Trump campaigns for reelection, it’s crucial that voters understand the truth behind his actions.
“This film dives deep into the testimony that held Trump accountable in court and gives a platform to the women who have suffered because of him.”
Trump’s legal team has been asking for a retrial of the case, with a brief hearing in early September seeing them lay out their perceived faults in the trial and its witnesses. A decision is not expected before November’s election.
The Republican presidential candidate then held a press conference in which he disparaged his legal team and spoke about two other women who made claims of sexual assault, again saying they were untrue.
He has told female voters on the campaign trail that he is their protector, adding that they will be “happy, healthy, confident and free” if he is reelected.
