Robinson has been with the 49ers since midway through the 2021 season. The 26-year-old signed with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent in 2021 out of Stanford. He appeared in three games with Denver, before he was released and joined the 49ers practice squad at the end of 2021. He appeared in three games at the end of the 2021 season.
Robinson then appeared in three games in 2022 and three games in 2023. Overall, across just 15 career games, Robinson has 10 tackles and one quarterback hit. Since joining San Francisco, he’s mainly just played special teams.
Robinson joins a laundry list of 49ers dealing with injuries this season. Just this week, the injury report featured quarterback Brock Purdy, wide receivers Deebo Samuel and Jacob Cowing, tight end George Kittle, offensive tackle Trent Williams, linebackers Dee Winters and Curtis Robinson, and defensive linemen Javon Hargrave and Jordan Elliott. Hargrave will miss the entire 2024 season after suffering a partial tear in his triceps.
Of course, running back Christian McCaffrey also hasn’t played this season, and recently went to Germany to see a specialist regarding his Achilles tendinitis.

The injuries have caught up to San Francisco, as they are 1-2 to start the 2024 campaign. The 49ers didn’t suffer their second loss of the 2023 season until Week 7.
The team will have a massive opportunity to get back on track against the 1-2 New England Patriots this week. After their upset win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1, New England has lost back-to-back games against the Seattle Seahawks and New York Jets.
Week 4’s matchup between San Francisco and New England kicks off at 1:05 p.m. PT. The 49ers will hope to have some of their stars back for the seemingly must-win game.
